New Women Connectors (NWC) started in March 2019 as a non-profit organisation led by migrant and refugee women. Our team members come from different national, cultural, linguistic, ethnic, educational, and professional backgrounds. However, we share many common experiences and strengths. Our platform provides refugee, migrant, undocumented and stateless diaspora the means to map their challenges, recommend solutions and become changemakers. As an organisation, NWC believes in racial and gender equality and social justice. We are dedicated to creating systemic changes in policy and practice that ensure that communities with migration backgrounds, especially women, can fully exercise their rights to protection, services, and self-sufficiency. NWC actively advocates for “gender transformative changes” in EU migration policies and aims to promote equal opportunities and inclusion while avoiding stigmatisation.
