The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) plays a leading role in scientific research in Spain having been selected in the top 5 universities to be recognised as a ‘Campus of International Excellence’ by the Spanish government. UAB is currently participating in over 200 internationally funded projects of which 67 in Cooperation, 22 in Capacities, 7 in Ideas, 38 in People, and more from other pan-European programmes such as CIP, Interreg, Tenders, Eureka, and Europe aid. UAB acts as project coordinator for 16 projects funded through the EU’s research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe, providing its experience and support capabilities. Given the multidisciplinary nature of the MILE project, UAB will participate with four departments: Translation, Psychology, Sociology, and Economics, as well as with a researcher from the neighbouring ‘Universitat Pompeu Fabra’ bringing in their expertise in media studies.
